Change of Seasons

March 8, 2008

Getting into fall and feel the change of the seasons though they are  the opposite of what I am used to. We have woken up to that white frosting on everything where its too cold for that first hour and you need to move, to chop, dig, hack, or hoe something until that blessed sun come over the hill. It feels that I really have come full circle given that my first trip down here was just about a year ago. We have harvested such bounty despite dubious beginnings and with the eating of squash and potatoes it sure feels like fall. We are eating greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers, cutting and gathering firewood and harvesting all sorts of grains and storage crops.
